Ian Bridge
Ian Bridge is a barrister and of counsel with Urban Thier Federer & Chinnery P.A. He is based out of, and the managing director of, the London, United Kingdom, office of Urban Thier Federer & Chinnery Limited. He has been in independent practice at the bar since 1988. He is a consultant with, and a director of, Urban Thier Federer & Chinnery Limited. He continues in independent mixed civil and criminal practice at No5 Chambers.
Ian is a specialist in fraud and money laundering. Many of his cases have an international element. He has advised regulated businesses and individuals on money laundering issues and has represented numerous individuals charged with laundering offences at first instance and on appeal. In fraud Ian has a particular expertise in tax having appeared in numerous cases involving VAT, landfill tax, income tax and corporation tax. In addition to tax fraud Ian has represented many persons facing allegations of boiler room share selling and investment or Ponzi type fraud.
Ian is regularly instructed in tax tribunal cases. Ian is an expert in the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. He is regularly instructed on behalf of those facing confiscation and interested third parties.
Ian is an expert in regulatory law he has advised companies and individuals on a very wide range of regulatory matters. He has a particular interest in health and safety, financial services and corporate governance. He is regularly instructed by government departments and agencies and local authorities in such matters.
Ian has substantial experience in personal injury. In particular industrial disease, accidents in the workplace and serious road traffic cases. He regularly represents clients facing proceedings following fatal and catastrophic injury road traffic accidents.
Ian is often instructed to represent interested parties at inquests.
