Biography
Almir Hot is an Of Counsel Attorney with Urban Thier & Federer, P.A. He is based out of the New York office. Mr. Hot’s practice focuses primarily on family law, real estate law and immigration law.
Mr. Hot has extensive experience and knowledge regarding complex family, immigration and real estate matters as well as Civil and Supreme Court litigation. He has represented clients in Civil and Supreme Courts all throughout the tri-state area. In addition, Almir Hot is often seen zealously representing his clients in Immigration Courts in the Greater New York area and the surrounding states. Prior to opening his own practice, he was an associate for several prestigious New York City law firms and prosecutor’s offices where he practiced in the areas of criminal defense, immigration law, and civil litigation.
Almir was born in Montenegro and came to United States with his family at a young age. He is fluent in English as well as the languages of former Yugoslavia (including Bosnian, Montenegrin, Serbian and Croatian).
Mr. Hot was admitted to the New York and New Jersey State Bars in 2012. He received his B.A. in Government, with a minor in English and History from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. He received his J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2011. He was a member of the National Moot Court Team and served as a Vice-President of the Mock Trial Team.
