On April 8, 2025, shortly before 1:00 a.m., disaster struck at the Jet Set Club nightclub in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The Jet Set Club, once a center for nightlife and culture, was reduced to rubble in a matter of seconds. Over 200 people were killed as a result of the roof collapse and many others were critically injured.
